Chart 6 is a breakdown of NPC and health and beauty care (HBC) revenues in 2002 for the following 12 product categories: cosmetics, feminine hygiene, hair products, baby care, nail care, oral hygiene, bath items, deodorants, shaving products, skin care, bath/toilet soap and fragrances.

Sales of NPC products are also presented by the following 3 channels: mass market retail, natural retail and direct/other channels.

Finally, a summary table presents NPC and “total NPC & other natural household product” sales by 8 channels including: mass market retail, department store/gift boutique, natural & specialty retail, body shop, etc., MLM/Network Marketing, Internet, Mail Order/DRTV and Practitioner.

Chart 143 - Top 52 NPC Companies & Sales: 2002

Chart 143 lists the top 52 ‘Core’ Natural Personal Care Companies and their estimated 2002 U.S. wholesale sales. Companies on the list include: Aubrey Organics, Kiss My Face, Nature’s Gate, Weleda, Rainbow, Fuchs, Eco-Dent, All Terrain, Nature’s Alchemy, Naturally Fresh Bodycare and Light Mountain to name a few.

Also included in this data chart is a summary of the total NPC market. NBJ presents the sum total of the top 52 companies sale, adds Private Label Manufacturing sales and the estimated sales of the remaining 250+ NPC companies not included on this list to estimate Total ‘Core’ Wholesales NPC sales.

Retail sales are then summed up by breaking out sales by channel. Channels listed include: Natural Retail, Specialty/Gift Retail, Mass Market Retail, MLM Consumer sales and Other Direct Consumer sales.

Chart 144 contains historical, current and forecast sales of the 12 natural personal care (NPC) product categories NBJ tracks. They are: cosmetics, feminine hygiene, hair products, baby care, nail care, oral hygiene, bath items, deodorants, shaving products, skin care, bath/toilet soap and fragrances.

Sales and forecasted sales for each of these twelve categories, as well as total other natural household products, are presented for the years 1994 through 2007.
